Plug the controller into port one and place a DVD into the system and hold Up until the DVD player menu appears. Then, release the Up button, and select the play icon.

When ever the PS2 Console is turned on or reset, cubes appear on the screen for a matter of seconds.  The more you play, the more appear.  What actually happens is, for every game you play, two new cubes appear the next time it is reset.  Interesting fact huh...
