Also, be sure to put "Reislied" in your subject header. Sorry, but I've received too many rude e-mail in the past, and I'm tired of dealing with whiny idiots who obviously do nothing but sit around playing video games all day since their communication skills are dwarfed by my pet chinchilla. In other words IF YOU E=MAIL ME BE POLITE OR BE IGNORED I do realize, however, that most people don't fit this description. Also after the US release of he game I'm not sure how well I'll remember where everything is and all the secrets. THIS GUIDE IS FOR THE JAPANESE VERSION of the game. Sorry but it's hard to remember things after not playing a game for a long time. REMEMBER! IF YOU SEND ME A RUDE E-MAIL I WILL TAKE YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS AND USE IT TO SIGN YOU UP FOR AS MUCH ANNOYING JUNK MAIL AS I CAN!! ===================================================== DISCLAIMER: This FAQ is meant for personal use only and can only be reproduced electronically. INTRODUCTION: Reislied is the first true RPG for the PSX2, and since I did a walkthrough for PoPoLoCrois, the first RPG for the psx I felt kinda obligated to a walkthrough for this one. The world is pretty much straightforward fantasy with all the classic elements. The graphics are very clear and beautiful and all polygonal (one step above Evergrace). The game also has a quick combat system (Sorry but in games like Chrono Cross it seems to take 2 minutes just to zoom in and begin the combat), and fast loading times throughout. Another nice feature is the Guitar Freaks controller bit. If you're a music game fan like I am the little music parts add to the fun of the game. Reislied also introduces a real time system. The clock is always running in the game and where you are at certain times affects what will happen and what characters you'll meet. It's quite reminiscent of Seiken Densetsu 3, but sometimes makes for you having to dash from one place to another with no time to do things like buy equipment. Despite this system the game still has no overall time limit so players have plenty of time to explore. With 12 characters to recruit and tons of hidden dungeons and secrets Reislied should keep you busy for a while. Overall it's a pretty good game. Yes, it's no Final Fantasy 9, but it is a very decent RPG. The game has a lot of non-linear elements to it without sacrificing plot (Like SaGa Frontier did). Like always, since this is a pure RPG I'd only recommend playing if you can at least read (though not necessarily understand) basic Japanese such as katakana. Doing so will make you experience much easier and enjoyable. Still, for the sake of those of you who have zero Japanese ability I've believe I've made this walkthrough pretty straightforward. Enjoyc ============================================================ 2. THE STORY: (My slightly embellished translation of the intro. in the manual) It is the land of sun, sea and freedom , the Isle of Eternal summer, Pandule. An island protected from the evils of the outside world, free from civil war, and filled with abundant nature. It is a place that once you arrive, you never want to leave. In fact no one who has ever come to Pandule has ever left its magical shores. From this island of Pandule one letter has come to a young man inviting him to the otherwise forbidden land. The caller is the ruler of Pandule, the great Zelhapolis. For in five days there will be a royal wedding, and this ceremony is in need songster. And the youth who presence has been requested is just that man. Yet there is still one more request To be found on the fantastical island of Pandule ============================================================ 3. MENU MANIA Many times here I will refer to pictures in the manual that comes with the game. If you don't have the manual, tough luck. But the game should be pretty easy to understand. All page number references should be used with the manual NOT this faq. ALSO: "xx" refers to number variables (a) or (b) etc. means check the corresponding note below When you press Square once you'll see a compass. Inside the compass is a clock. THIS IS IMPORTANT! Always be sure to check the clock. The number is what day it is. Press square again to get the menu commands. Use the D-pad to scroll through the options and press circle to select. Alternatively just use the shoulder buttons once you're in a menu. When you call up the menu you'll see the following at the bottom of the screen. PARTY'S LEVEL xx EXP.: xx EXP to next level: xx +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 4.1 STATUS MENU Looks a bit like this: ------------------------------------------------------------------ Name Level HP Lv. xx MP Picture EXP xx STATUS next level (a)Style (b)party xx Status Problems (if you have any) HP xx/xx Morale: xx MP xx/xx WEAPON Weapon Name STATS BATTLE STATS * * * * * Strength: xx Attack Power ACCESORIES Wisdom: xx Defense acc. 1 Agility: xx Magic Attack acc. 2 Magic Defense acc. 3 Attack Elements(c) ATTACK STYLE L-H-F-D-I-D-W-M-Ic-Wa-E-T-Ea (a) Defense Elements(c) L-H-F-D-I-D-W-M-Ic-Wa-E-T-Ea PARTY'S LEVEL(d) xx EXP.: xx EXP to next level: xx ------------------------------------------------------------------ NOTES: (a): Here you can choose your AI combat style. Choose between ƒIƒtƒFƒ“ƒX Offense ƒoƒ‰ƒ“ƒX Balance ƒfƒBƒtƒFƒ“ƒX Defense (note: Japanese characters here) (b) This chooses to kick out (temporarily) a member of the party. The maximum number of members at any given time is 3. (c) The letters refer to the following. (note: Japanese characters here) Displayed like: Letter / English / Kanji L / Light / Œ H / Heat / ‰Š F / Fire / ‰ D / Dark / I / Illusion / Œ W / Wind / •— M / Music / ‰ Ic / Ice / •X Wa / Water / … E / Evil / Ž T / Thunder / —‹ Ea / Earth / ’n (d) The party's level and character's level are different. The Party level affects all members HP and MP while the Character Level affects all other stats. This way when you recruit new members they don't have pathetically low HP and aren't killed in one blow from the enemy. A nice idea if you ask me. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 4.2 ITEM MENU This is pretty standard you'll get 4 choices (accessed by pressing the circle button). Equip/use Sort Auto-sort Throw Away Green Items: can be used White items: can't be used Blue Items: Can be equipped Red Items: Are items already Equipped +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 4.3 SKILL MENU Also pretty easy. Again you have 4 choices. Explain Sort Auto-sort AI Command (on/off) You'll see a choice of skills below. They'll look like NAME ELEMENT LEVEL AP used AI Obviously "Explain" is useless if you don't understand Japanese "AI" will turn on or off the command as a possibility in the AI auto-battle mode. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 4.4 MAGIC MENU Looks familiar. Use Sort Auto-sort AI Command (on/off) You'll see a choice of magic below. They'll look like NAME ELEMENT MP AP used AI Refer to the Status screen (4.1) for magic kanji translations. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 4.5 SYSTEM MENU Hey guys. It's all in English! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 4.6 SAVE MENU In order to save Press the Square button and select the save option. The time displayed on your save is the day and the time of day in the game, not how long you've been playing the game. You can't save during certain times and in certain places. ============================================================ 5. REAL TIME SYSTEM: The game works on a semi-real time system. If you're bad at keeping appointments maybe you should play another game. No, seriously. The game has a constantly running internal clock. Where you are during certain times determines how the plot unfolds and which characters you can recruit into your party. In essence you only have 5 game days to beat the game. This seems like a lot, except the game clock is pretty fast. Often times towards the beginning of the game you'll be teleported to a specific place if you miss the time event. Always be sure to keep track of the time of day (see menu section). There are 4 distinct times of day as seen on page 3 of the manual. They are morning, noon, twilight, and nighttime. These of course effect many other aspects of the game. What exactly they effect is up to you to find out. ============================================================ 6. LET'S FIGHT (COMBAT): Many times here I will refer to pictures in the manual that comes with the game. If you don't have the manual, tough luck. But the game should be pretty easy to understand. All page number references should be used with the manual NOT this faq. COMMAND MENU Attack --> attack list Magic --> Magic list Item --> Item list Style --> Offense / Balance / Defense (top to bottom) Escape When combat begins you'll be informed of what and where the monsters are (top left of screen). There are three areas to the battlefield, A, B and C. These can be seen on page 23 in the manual. When the action begins your action counter (the little vertical gauge by your stats) starts to fill up. When it's full you can take an action. Basically the AC gauge is a lot like the ATB version in the Final Fantasy series. When you take an action it's reduced, as time passes it fills up. For instance most attacks cost 2 AP (Action Points), yet magic (depending on the spell) can cost a lot more! All combat is REAL TIME. So choose your commands quickly. If you're unsure what to do press the pause button while you look at your choices. As you fight and use your skills your level in these skills will go up. Be sure to use all of your skills regularly. As you attack skills go up in level you will learn new skills. For instance when mouse has a "Cut" skill of 3 he gains the "jump cut" skill. See the skills and magic section for more information All status effects carry over to the next battle, but you don't have to deal with them in between. For example if you're poisoned you won't loose HP wandering around the field, but you will still be poisoned when you enter your next battle. Bad status is listed on page 25. STATUS SYMBOL EFFECT (Cure) Poison Green vial Loose HP at regular intervals (Cured with item/spell) Paralysis Lightning Can't Act (Time cure) Sleep ZZZZ Can't Act (Cured by being hit) Blind Eye Hit rate down (Cured with item/spell) Freeze Stone block Can't Act (Cured with item/spell) If all characters frozen, Game Over. Zombie Skull Random Attack (Cured with item/spell) If all characters zombied, Game Over. Confusion ??? Acts randomly (Cured by being hit / Time cure) ============================================================ 7. BUY, SELL & SAVE: When you go to a shop there are 2 choices the top one is always buy and the bottom sell. In order to save Press the Square button and select the save option. The time displayed on your save is the day and the time of day in the game, not how long you've been playing the game. You can't save during certain times and in certain places. ============================================================ 8. ROLE CALL: MOUSE The hero of the game. He's a wandering Musician PACHIMO Mouse's talking stringed instrument. Always making annoying smart- alec comments. RUMI A royal soldier who is in love with Zelhapolis. BAGOS Royal general of Pandule. ZELHAPOLIS Soon to be Prince. ROLEIYU Princess of Pandule. RINA Daughter of the innkeeper. KYTE A tough and brazened man of the sea. PLOSI A dirty ol' painter (think of the movie "Horse's Mouth" ) NOO The Royal magic engineer. ROID Every RPG has a cute and annoying character. BIC Do you think it's just a coincidence he uses fire attacks? FANG Tough lad with a spear and a flute. GRANTAS To say that he's bull-headed is an understatement. TWINBALM Big Bird's evil country cousin. JAWARO Very pretty if you can just look past the sankes. ============================================================ 9. WALKTHROUGH PART ONE: 9.1 DAY ONE The story begins with Mouse on a ship headed to Pandule. The boat guide asks to sees Mouse's letter of passage. It is from someone on the island who has invited mouse to play. Pachimo then asks mouse if he's looking to find a cute girl to get it on with on the island. You can choose one of 3 replies (in English!). The guy drops you off and says that the ship will be back in 6 days to pick you up. After he arrives he meets Rumi, a bodyguard. She is surprised at how young he is. She explains that Pandule is a small island with only 400 people living there. Now since there's going to be a Royal wedding it's particularly lively, but usually Pandule is a quiet, serene island. Mouse then asks about the Princess's bothered. Rumi Explains that he's not from the island and that his name is Zelhapolis (Sounds kinda like a city). All the while Pachimo is making annoying comments to mouse about how cute Rumi and such. Rumi then takes Mouse to his room and explains that Zelhapolis will come later to pick him up. Until then she suggests that Mouse roam around town. She then says to stay close to town since there're monsters around the beaches and mountains. Before you set out you have a chat with Pachimo. He says that since Zelhapolis is royalty that the pay for this gig should be good. The inn keeper then comes in and explains that he's been running the inn for 30 years or so and that this is the first time some one so important (invited by Zelhapolis ) has come. He than babbles on about various other stuff, Pachimo wonders if he'll ever shut up. Finally he says there's a map by the bed you can use. You get the map then. If you want to rest in the bed you can choose 1, 3, or 6 hours of rest. Go out and explore! In the hotel you can find a wind ring in a cabinet on the same floor. If equipped it will increase your magic power by 30 points. Eventually Rumi will track you down and take you to Zelhapolis. You'll meet Bagos (The big guy) first. Finally Zelhapolis thanks you for coming and says he can't wait to hear your songs since Mouse is also known as "The Fantastical Songster" . He says he invited you first to see your skill as a player. He goes on to say that the wedding will be 5 days from now and he'd like you to get accustomed to the island in that time and perhaps compose a wedding song based off of your time on the island. He then will ask you if you wouldn't mind playing for the wedding. (YES/NO) He says he'll give you 100,000 G for payment. Your advance will be 10,000 G. Needless to say Pachimo is thrilled by this! He then calls out the princess (Who, oddly enough has no nose!). Pachimo of course has to comment on her beauty and Mouse's response is funny. You find out her name is Roleiyu. She gives you Pachimo back and Mouse is granted the inspiration for a new song! (That's what all the lights and music are). You then go to the music mini-game. P.S. You don't get the 10,000 yet. For the game press select for help (top) or config. Use the d-pad up and down to scroll thorough the options. The trick is to press the PICK key and the right color just as the colored block is inside the line at the top. If you've played "guitar freaks", "Beat Mania", or my favorite, "PoP N' Music" this should be pretty easy for you. If not don't worry, you can't loose. Personally I suggest you look at the config, Config Type-C seems to be the best for me. Afterwards you'll get a rank from A (best) to E (Worst). I don't think it matters how you do since I tried it once (E) and again (Rank A) with nothing changing. Zelhapolis then tells you to go explore the town. Along the way Rumi asks if you're worried about playing the wedding. You explain that while the princess is beautiful you are here to play upon Zelhapolis's request and that's all. Rumi says "Zelhapolis..." and walks off. Pachimo thinks that Rumi might have a thing for Zelhapolis. Now you can roam around. When it gets late enough you'll be teleported to the castle. You should try to find the princesses room before the guards all wake up. If you don't find it it's okay since you'll be teleported to the princess' s room where you find her looking at the stars. She says something about the island being a prison and then leaves. Pachimo then suggests that you get out of there quick. Eventually you'll be teleported back to the inn and it will be the next day. NOTE: Even though at midnight it's technically day 2. I'm going by my system, which is when you wake up it's a new day. END OF DAY ONE +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 9.2: DAY TWO The innkeeper suggests you go to the sacred stones, since everyone else is doing so for the wedding. They can be found along the shore. He's going and suggests that you come along. Apparently when Royalty pray to the sacred stones they are given a jewel in return. Pachimo then remembers what the princess said about the island. He then double checks to see if you want to go collect shells or not. I chose yes and Rina (The innkeeper's daughter) came in and asks where you went. She rushes after you. When you get to the Beach you see Rumi bathing. She tells you that the rock thingy doesn't start till 8:00. She says that she's there just to relax since she's nervous about the wedding. She then gets ready. Now you'll get into your first easy fight. Just press the circle button and you should win. She remarks on how strong you are. You may have time to fight again. Eventually you are teleported to the worship area. Now watch the wacky snake priest dance. Rumi remarks it's the first time she's ever seen such a thing. General Bagos then takes you aside and says he want to talk to you later and tells you to meet him at the castle. Rumi wonders what you'll talk about. Pachimo comments on how she's been acting stranger and stranger. Don't worry about trying to get to the castle. Even if you run as fast as you can, you still won't make it. Instead wander around, fight and get treasure. Finally you're teleported to the castle. When you arrive she's making a funny face. She then insists that she's coming along since whatever Bagos has to tell you he should tell her as well (She demands). You then meet Bagos, who introduces himself as general of Pandule. Bagos tells Rumi to fetch some drinks but she gets mad and demands to know what he wants to tell you. Bagos insists she's always like that. You follow Bagos into a meeting room and he asks you what you think of Pandule. He tells you he loves the island and everything on it exceptc Well, recently he's been feeling uneasy. He doesn't know why but this feeling has been growing in him every day. He asks you not to think him strange but recently he's been looking around the island. Recently there's been a lot more monsters and other strange things. He says that he's sorry to suddenly dump all of this on you except that he feels that since you are not of the island you might understand his feelings. He then asks if you think he's strange; (YES/NO) choice. I chose "no" and he seemed to be happy that he is not alone. He then asks one more favor of you. He asks you to keep your little conversation secret and report anything funny to him. After this you're free to wander. I decided to practice my guitar there (this can be done anytime by accessing Pachimo in the items section and scrolling through you previous songs). Then I took a step and BAM! Monster attack. Pachimo wonders what the heck happened. There are now monsters everywhere and watch out, cause they're tough! Make you way out of the castle. As you do Rumi will find you and ask what's going on. She says that she wants you to meet her at a restaurant at 7:30 tonight . She says it's a message from Zelhapolis, so you better be there. She then gives you a map. Press select to access the map screen and look where you're supposed to be. Now hall ass ASAP to the restaurant, where you'll find her waiting. She asks if you want to know anything about.. 1 The Princess (A beautiful and gentle woman. She's reallyc beautiful). 2 Zelhapolis (A splendid person. She'd do anything for him) 3 The Wedding (In the castle 21:00 5th day. Chapel at the top of the castle) 4 Rumi (she gets embarrassed) Ask her about everything then ask about the princess. When you do this she gets mad and storms off. Pachimo tells you not to be such a jerk. Mouse goes and talks to Rumi. She apologies saying she feels a little ill. She then says it's her fault not yours. It looks like she's a little jealous. Then she leaves and you're free to wander and buy supplies. Also the second time you ask about Zelhapolis she says that ever since he's been around the monsters on the island have increased. Suspicious , huhc Now you can run around all you want and you don't even have to go to sleep! END OF DAY TWO +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 9.3: DAY THREE Now you should head towards the inn if you want to later be able to recruit Rina (The innkeeper's daughter). You should be at the inn between 6-10 AM. Talk to the inn master at the desk and an event will start. You ask where a good place to play music is and the inn master tells you that the north forest is good. Rina hears this and she wants to tag along (YES/NO) choice. Choose YES of course. From here she takes you on a tour of the town and you play a song for her and you get to see another ceremony. Now run out of the front gate of the ceremony place and Northeast you'll find a treasure chest with a map of the area! Now go out the east exit of that map and follow the path Northeast again. Here you'll stumble along a map for this area as well. Also, if you want head out the north exit of the last map (where the ceremony was) and head Northwest to find another map (if you have time). Eventually Rina will have to go aback to work. You now are free until 7:45PM. Find a shop and buy some red apples to recover your HP. Go to the "Mall", all of the brick buildings around the city square (more of a circle). Here you'll find a variety of shops. If you look around the Mall hard enough you'll find the blacksmith shop (farthest lower right hand corner on the map with the inn). Come here later to upgrade your characters' weapons. Notice the 5 stars below the weapon on your status screen. Each character's weapon can be upgraded 4 times! At 3:15 if you're on the center map a dance will take place. Eventually a castle maid will fetch you and take you to see Zelhapolis give a speech. Then suddenly, you're rudely interrupted by bandits! The Bandit King is named Kalhint. After the fight the princess is disturbed that Zelhapolis killed the bandit so brutally. Zelhapolis also tries to intimidate you by asking if you're still man enough to stay on the island, since it must look dangerous. He then assures you that you're safe as long as he is there. (A hint for his future wife to pick up on). He then assures you that you'll never have anything to fear from the island as long as he's alive. After all you're his new "friend", "Ha ha ha ha". Now wander for a while if you want. Hey why not get another map? To get the map for the area to the east of the town center simply follow the road behind the inn east. Now take a ramp a little south on the next map and follow it east till you run into a house. This is a school house go inside and talk to the kids by the entrance they'll give you a map of the area. END OF DAY THREE +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 9.4: DAY FOUR At 6AM you'll cut to a scene with Noo, an engineer. Then you'll see the princess and Zelhapolis. He's giving her a pep talk about tomorrow's wedding, telling her how she'll always be his from tomorrow. After he leaves she says that she is no one's property. Sometime in the morning hours I suggest you go to the castle. Here you'll run into Zelhapolis and company rehearsing. He gives you a pep talk about being an important part of the wedding and a chapter of the islands history. . Then Noo comes and Zelhapolis introduces him as the magic engineer of the island. Noo seems to be having a problem with a machine for the wedding. He then invites you to dinner at 8:00PM that night. Pachimo doesn't like Zelhapolis, and thinks he's stuck-up and cold hearted. Now if you feel like it head towards the castle make a left before the first plant in the walkway leading to the castle and walk towards the tower (maybe you have to go right, I forget). This will take you outside follow the path till you run into the princess (auto-event when you're close enough). She will then speak to you privately. You begin to say to her 1. "I want to help you" or 2. "I want to get off this island". Well I said #1 and she said that she didn't need any help since she understands Zelhapolis true power better than anyone else. She then calls you silly and tells you that you had better simply resign yourself to Zelhapolis's will, like she has. She then says "Today many people will be unhappy" and "No one can stop it.. No onec" as you leave. You now have some free time so how about getting more town maps! (Only if you want). Use the city central map again and exit west (there are 2 exits take the north one). Now follow the windy roads to the west map and then to the Southwest map. Here follow more windy roads till you come to a temple looking thing. Inside search the bookshelves and you'll find a map! Now head northwest (to the map west of the city central). Here you'll come to a small temple. Inside pay the man 30G, he'll tell your fortune and give you a map. At 7:30 the dinner begins (someone will pick you up). At dinner Zelhapolis remarks on how beautiful his collection of crowns is (the one's he got through the strange ceremony he's been doing lately). He then proposes a toast to the royal wedding. He gets a little miffed when his bride doesn't participate in the toast. He then asks Rumi if she was the one who prepared the wine. When she says "yes " he makes her taste it. Well it looks like a pretty strong drink to me! (he heh). Zelhapolis then accuses Rumi of trying to kill Roleiyu. Rumi responds by saying that ever since Zelhapolis became engaged to Roleiyu that he's changed and she's sure that Roleiyu is really a demon! Rumi says that she's served Zelhapolis for a long time and that she was only trying to protect him (She may also be trying to admit her love for him). She pleads with him as she's dragged off. Zelhapolis accuses her for being jealous. Roleiyu then says that Zelhapolis is trying to manipulate the islanders like dolls. Zelhapolis responds by saying that they are his "cute little dolls", and that Rumi simply slipped from hi grasp a little. Roleiyu replies that there's no way Zelhapolis can keep all the people in check. Then they realize that Mouse has heard their whole conversation. Zelhapolis then says that only he can act freely around the princess. The only other person who can do so is Mouse after all he composed such a nice song for the future queen (said with a touch malice). Zelhapolis then goes on to say something like "It's too bad about the fireworks, I would have like to have seen them". Then suddenly there's a BOOM and a soldier comes to tell them that suddenly there an explosion from the fireworks machine that Noo was building. Mouse goes to check it out. Upon arrival Noo says that unfortunately General Bagos was inside when the blast occurred. Bagos mumbles something about a magic sword then apologizes to Mouse for failing (failing what I wonder?). His last words are that "The kingdom of Pandule must prosper.." Pachimo then says that he's sure that Zelhapolis set this whole thing up. Then the happy music starts and you're free to run about! If you have time (you've got to get there before 12AM), I suggest you run to the pub. You'll have to be quick. What you need to do is go east right after you get off the castle bridge this will bring you onto the next map (which you should have a map for). Now head south east along the gray cobblestone road till you come to almost the bottom of the map. Here enter the large gray building (entrance facing north) in the middle of the south most part of the map. This is the pub. Here an event will begin and you'll meet Kleya. She'll be sitting at the bar (indigo hair) go up and talk to her. She says that this is a adult place and that you'll get nowhere with out adult trappings (i.e. liquor). Go to the bar tender and buy a 200G bottle of liquor. Now go back to Kleya and give it to her. She's a little drunk but she figures out this is the first time she's met you. She asks to look at your watch sine that's how she remembers people. She's impressed with your foreign watch. She says that she has a magic power over the pub and that only people that she'll like can open the door and enter. She then leaves and Pachimo wonders if you're not getting a little desperate for going after a girl like that. NOTE: this event can be completed any time during the first and second week of the game (Remember one week is FIVE days, not seven), simply go to the pub between 8PM-12AM. Now feel free to explore the town and break into people's houses and steal stuff. See unlike most fantasy games where you're playing heroes with great morals you actually have a reason to steal stuff since Mouse is a thief. Unlike say Final Fantasy 2 (4) where you're a palidin yet you're still rummaging through people's drawers. I always though that was kinda dumb and didn't really fit into the plot. END OF DAY FOUR +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 9.5 DAY FIVE WALKTHROUGH As soon as day breaks (6AM) you see Zelhapolis and Roleiyu waking up. And Zelhapolis relates that his day if destiny has arrived. You're free until 9PM do what you like. Why not get the map to the southeast of the central map. Simply follow the road to the pub like you did last night (see above). Now go a little west past the pub and take the south road. Follow this road till you come to a small pond. Talk to the man to the north of the pond and he'll give you a map. For an event you can go to the castle from 12-6PM and go to the tower to the left of the entrance (make a left before the first plant in the walkway leading to the castle). Here Pachimo will tell you that the princess' room is right above you. STOP, don't move from this spot and go to your item screen. Here select Pachimo and play a song. The princess will tell you how much the song moved her and you'll learn a new song! Now play the new song and she will give you a flower that heals all party members fully! Also if you go into the castle on the 2nd floor (entrance floor) and run to the room to the southeast with all the guards in it and talk to the guards one of them will give you a map of the castle. You might also want to gain some levels by fighting in the castle a little. I also took a rest at the inn for an hour (Go to your room and examine the bed). Doing this will heal your character for free. At 8PM another auto-event will take place. You'll see all the dancers (did you notice Rina?) and fire works. At 9PM the spectacle begins! Ahh and now I understand the Magic sword and the 2 crowns Zelhapolis was after are all for this. Notice Rina admiring you from the crowd. And yeah I hope you practiced your music cause the gig is on! And by the way the new song is pretty hard without the guitar controller! After that little embarrassing feat the ceremony continues. Zelhapolis calls you to the stage to congratulate you and you're a little nervous. Zelhapolis said he expected you move and calls you a coward. Everyone thinks you're a friend of the bandits. Roleiyu begs of you to stop since you don't have the power to defeat both Zelhapolis and his soldiers. Time then freezes. Zelhapolis wonders why you can still move. He wonders if it's the magic in your music, or if it's your sword. He then challenges you to a duel to which Roleiyu tells you to run away. Zelhapolis tells you he'll never let you off the island. Don't worry about trying to beat him. In the next scene he tells you that the wedding will proceed and that neither you nor the audience will remember anything! NOW THE ADVENTURE REALLY BEGINS! END OF DAY FIVE +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 9.6 DAY SIX You wake up on the boat to Pandule! You've just arrived on the island! All your items are gone except for the important ones! WOW! After you talk to the fisherman Pachimo gets a strange feeling like this has all happened before. In fact I think Pachimo might remember everything! After all I don't think Zelhapolis realized that Pachimo was alive. Still, Mouse doesn't seem to remember a thing. After you sit down with Pachimo he explains it all to you. Apparently there is a time loop going on around the island! Pachimo says he was keeping a diary of all that happened. He also thinks that you should recruit as many friends as you can to help battle Zelhapolis. He then suggests you make a break for it before the old guy comes in. At 5PM Rumi will come for you. Then you'll meet Zelhapolis again. Remember use the triangle button to Fast Forward through event scenes! Though the event is a little different this time. When your finished save your game! I found out how to get the 10,000G advance he was talking about. Now run to the City Hall. This building is marked on the map in the upper left hand corner look for the kanji (–Š) there. Go inside and talk to the little boy sitting at the desk he'll give you your money. Now go to the blacksmith (Remember I told you to memorize his location earlier) and upgrade Pachimo. You have to be at the city hall before 8PM to get your money so run as fast as you can!! Depending on what grade you get on your song you'll get more or less money. Now it's time to start recruiting characters. The first guy you can get is Kyte. You need to visit the bar located on the southwest tip of the harbor (map to the southeast of the city map). You have to go this bar between 6-10PM on days 1-3. You should try and make it there today. An event will take place as soon as you enter. Kyte is drunk and he asks if you'll play a song for him. He then asks if you can down his strong sea man liquor in one gulp (YES/No). Choose YES. After that you go outside and he tells you his name and says you can come to him whenever you're in trouble. Except on the 4th day. He's going on a trip that day (see below for the event). You now have some free time. In any case day 6, or shall I say day 1 week 2 will come to a close. Sorry to put this here but I didn't want to spoil the surprise. Look below for the rest of the walkthrough. ============================================================ 10. WALKTHROUGH PART TWO: The game is very non-linear from this point, there are a number of things you have to do to beat the game and there are multiple side-quests you can go on. Basically your goal is to stop Zelhapolis and if you don't the game simply re-starts it's time cycle. You're first goal should be to get some comrades to join you in your quest. There are a total of 12 other characters you can get to join you. You should be able to beat the game and get most of the secrets in 4-5 weeks. However I think you can take as long as you want. Remember only RARE items can be saved every time the time loop happens. RARE items include equipment, maps and other key items. See the items section for details. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 10.1 WEEK TWO AND BEYOND GUIDE !!!THIS SECTION IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!!! This section is divided into 3 parts. "Auto-events" (Things which happen automatically), "Characters" (Characters you can recruit), and "Main Events" (What you need to do to finish the game). I've tried to list the events in order, but as the game is quite non-linear it's sometimes difficult. If you can't get a certain event to happen chances are you haven't met the prerequisites needed for that event. Be sure to read the first paragraph of each event carefully! I tell you what prerequisites you need to get the event happening there. 10.2 AUTO-EVENTS The following are all the auto-events that will take place in the following weeks. REMEMBER TO GO TO THE CASTLE BEFORE 5PM ON THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK THEN TO THE CITY HALL SO YOU CAN GET 10,000G!! (Oops, you can't do this from the 4th week onwards) On the second week you'll meet up with Rumi at the docks again. You'll also have to play the song for Zelhapolis. On this week you'll also have to go to the sea shrine and talk to Bagos. These will all cycle till you can recruit new friends. I suggest you recruit Claire, Rumi and Bagos this week if you are able. But at least be sure to get Claire! On Week three you'll meet any friends you converted from the last week and have a talk at the inn. Rina will overhear your conversation and run away (see more in her character section below). --------------------------------------------- 10.3 CHARACTERS GUIDE --------------------------------------------- KYTE: (available from 2nd week) In order to get Kyte simply do as you did above (day 6) any time within the first 3 days. He can be recruited any time from week 2 onwards. Now go back near the area where you found him any time during the daytime. He's standing by a red boat a little east of the pub. Talk to him and choose YES. He'll then join your party. You'll have a fight then and he's recruitable from there after during that week. You can find him next to the red boat again. After you recruit him you tell him about the time warp and what not but he doesn't believe you. Now you have to take him to the castle to prove that there are monsters there. Don't use the front entrance since Kyte is to embarrassed to go in that way. Instead use the door off to the right (east) of the entrance bridge. Just turn right before the first tree on the bridge leading up to the castle. Now follow the path till you come to a door. Once inside a fight will take place. After the fight Kyte believes your story and his magical strength and the power of your watch fuse thus freeing him from the time loop amnesia. + + + + + + + + + + + + RUMI: (available from 2nd week) On the second day go to the beach just south of the first temple you saw during day 2 of week 1. This is 3 map squares east of the city central map. You have to be there at exactly 7 AM so I suggest you head there ASAP as soon as your day 1 events are finished. Watch out for the crabs on the beach, as they will poison you. Be sure to buy some healing items before going there if you have time. To get there go to the second shrine you saw during day 3 of week 1. And east then exit northeast to a beach with some rocks. After you speak to Bagos about his problems on day two she'll track you down to meet her at the restaurant, like before excepts this time she gets very drunk. After going on about Zelhapolis for a while she asks you if you think she's weaker than the princess. Pick whatever answers you want to her question (NO is nicer). You eventually end up walking her home after she drinks till dawn. She apologizes for her rudeness last night then goes inside. Just before that she's ask if you really feel... (she cuts off and goes inside). On the third day you must head to her house. This is located on the map directly south of the city center. Her house is on the west side second from the top. When you go to the door you hear her say "There's no turning back I must get ready for tomorrow" You have to be at her house from 12-6PM. I suggest you get the map for this part. In order to do so you'll need 1000G go to the fish store (first on the east side coming north from city central). Now exit east down the stairs to the beach. From here head south to a shop with a blue awning. Enter and buy something (100G item). Now sell the item back and sell another of your items. The owner will offer you a map for 1000G. Now on the 4th day between 12-6PM head to Rumi's room in the castle. This is located on the first floor (one flight of stairs down from the entrance). In the Southeast corner (more east than south). When you enter talk to Rumi. She's surprised to see you but says she's got to rush off to get ready for the dinner tonight. After she leaves look at the notes on the desk (there are 3 items so make sure you look at the notes). These describe the ingredients needed for her potion to kill the princess. Now examine the flower and you go into a battle. After the fight you'll get the "Nightmare Flower" item. Now head to the kitchen (same floor as Rumi's room in the northwest corner) between 7-8PM on the same night. Now talk to the chefs. They say that Rumi did something with all the glasses. Now look at the glasses just in front of the cupboards east of the chefs. Now you'll have three choices as to which cup is the princess'. Choose "ƒuƒ‹[" (Blue), the middle choice. This is which cup you're putting the flower (the antidote) in. Now you have to fight the same monster again. Now it cuts to the dinner scene again except when she goes to drink it Mouse steps in and stops it all. At this point Zelhapolis tells that you are perhaps the most interesting fellow he's ever met. After the dinner Rumi comes to talk to you. She asks how you knew what she was going to do. At this point you introduce her to Pachimo and explain the whole thing. Her magic strength combines with that of your watch and she's free from the bondage of the time loop. + + + + + + + + + + + + CLAIRE: (available from 2nd week) Claire is the most important character to recruit. I highly recommend getting her ASAP. In order to get her you have to go to the bar and buy her some wine. Check the week 1, day 4 walkthrough for this. After you've done this you need to head to her shop the next day (6AM onwards). You can go to the bar and get her on any day but the first. Her shop is located just west of the city center map. Look at the map you got for this and there will be some kanji (ŽžŒv‰ I think). In any case exit to the south but west (not the south exit!) from the city center. You'll walk down a little road to her shop (the only building in the road). BE SURE to remember the location of Claire's shop since it will serve as your base of operations later in the game! Once you enter she'll greet you. Now look around and exit. When you exit an event will take place. Here she'll realize that Pachimo is alive. She will also tell you she has a watch with the same crest as yours. You then explain everything (the time loop etc..) to her and she gets some magic power from the inside of your watch. You can now recruit her into your party. You'll find her at her shop later except from 8PM-12AM she'll be at the bar. Now go back into her shop and another event will take place. She shows you her magic chest. This chest will hold up to 5 types of items and as much money as you want and the contents are unaffected by time (As you recruit more characters this number will go up). This means that you can retrieve stored items from the chest even after the time warp! The chest has the following commands. 1. Insert / Remove Items (right side are inserted items) 2. Deposit Money 3. Take Out Money After you recruit Plosi and Rumi go back to Claire's shop. An event will take place and she'll show you her magic mirror. You can use this mirror to call on any characters you've recruited. This is much easier than tracking them all down! NOTE: Claire's weapon upgrade shop is located just west of the restaurant you meet Rumi at on day 2. + + + + + + + + + + + + RINA: (available from 3rd week) Once you've recruited a character into your group on the first day of the following week Rina will overhear your conversation about what's happening on the island. She'll then say hello to you and run away. Now go and talk to her father behind the counter. You tell her that it looks like Rina has run away. He'll say that she's always getting into trouble and that you shouldn't worry. On the 3rd day at 7PM head back to the inn and speak to Rina's father. This time he's worried since she hasn't been home in a long time. Now RUN to Rina's secret place (the one where you played the song for her before). This is located on the map 2 squares east of the city central map. Her secret place is directly south of the temple there. If you have the map to the area (remember I told you how to get it on day 3 of week one) it should be easy to find. When you get there you'll hear a scream. Apparently she's been discovered by some of Zelhapolis's minions! They decide that since it looks like she knows something that it'd be best to kill her. You decide to intervene and save her. The bull-man who you fight is impressed at your strength. He says that his name is Grantas and that you'll meet again. After the fight she tells you that she overheard your talking and that it was too much of a shock for her to believe. You soothe her with a song and her magical strength combines that of your clock, thus freeing her from the time loop amnesia. You then go back to the inn. And Rina falls asleep until the 5th day. Next week when you arrive in Pandule she's waiting for you and asks if she can join you. Now look at her SKILLS status screen. You'll notice a new category "ƒ`ƒFƒ“ƒW", or change. This will change Rina to Rin-Rina a much more powerful version of her former self. Use her in this mode, unless you have a thing for mop attacks. + + + + + + + + + + + + PLOSI: (available from 3rd week) You need to find Plosi's house first. It's located in the northwest corner of the northwest map. To get there exit the inn you stay at west walk for a short distance till you can go north up a ramp. Now exit onto the map east of the city central. Now go up another ramp and make a U-turn and head back to the city central map (a little north of your previous position). Now head west till you get to another map. On this map head west till you come to a shrine. Behind the shrine you'll see a path leading to the woods. Follow this path southwest till you come to Plosi's house. You need to go to Plosi's house ALONE on the day 1 or day 2 in the afternoon (12-6PM). His helper introduces him as the genius artist "Plosi". Plosi is currently painting a picture of the princess for use in the royal castle. When you go the first time he'll tell you to bring back a female model for him. Go and get any girl in your party (Rumi, Claire, or Rina) and return on before day 3 in the afternoon. Now you get to see what a pervert he really is! In any case he tells you to come back on the 3rd day between 6-9AM with the same model! When you come back he finished up his picture. Mouse then disguises himself ad Plosi's assistant and they head for the castle when they are rudely attacked by a monster. The princess soon realizes who you really are, asks why you came and says that you better get out before Zelhapolis finds out. After the castle bit Plosi says you can call on him anytime for help as long as you introduce him to more cute women. At that time his magic strength and that of your clock combine, thus freeing him from the time loop amnesia. + + + + + + + + + + + + BAGOS: (available from week 2) In order to get Bagos you must make sure to speak to him on the 2nd day after the ceremony. Then he'll tell you he wants to talk to you later. If you haven't yet recruited Rumi you should automatically be taken to the ceremony. If you've already recruited her you must go to the temple yourself (I think) by 8AM on day 2. The temple is located 3 squares east and 1 square north of the city center. To get there go out of the town like you usually do then take the road north (not east like when you got Rumi). Go northeast from here (northeast of the village) and you'll come to a beach where the temple is. After the temple talk be sure to go to the castle when 1PM comes. I think you will be asked by Pachimo if you want to go there (choose YES), and you'll be automatically teleported there. After this talk be sure to choose "NO". Now rush down to the room next to Noo's room (2F, entrance floor, northwest corner). Here talk to the researchers, then go next door and talk to Noo. An event will take place with Pachimo talking to you. Next you need to run out the front of the castle and head east on the bridge to the side gate (like you did to get Kyte). Follow this path till you come to a garden with a big flower. Talk to Jaelson (the gardener) and you'll have to fight his plant. After the fight you'll get his key. Now head back into the castle. To get to Jaelson's room go east then turn north on the 2F of the castle. This room will have lots of plants in it. Now use your key and get in. Once in the room find Jaelson's clothes (ƒWƒFƒCƒ‹ƒ\ƒ“‚•ž). Now run to the little waiting room before Noo's room. Here select the clothes item and you'll dress up like Jaelson. Now you'll talk to Noo and get the spare key to the engine room. Now wait until 4th day. You need to go to the engine room (take the West bridge before the castle and follow the path till you see a door with two guards by it). Enter the door and go up a big flight of stairs. At the top you'll see a door wait by this door until 8PM. At this time Bagos will appear by the door. Speak to him and enter the door. When you go inside Bagos follows. You then stop him from trying to fix the Fire Engine. An event scene then takes place. You have to fight a boss and wa-lah! You've convinced Bagos of the evils of Zelhapolis. His magic strength combines with the power of your watch and well... (you know the rest). + + + + + + + + + + + + NOO: Noo is the hardest main character to get and it may take a few weeks unless you know exactly where you're going. You need to have both Rumi and Bagos in your party before you can get him. First you have to talk to Noo in his room (castle 2F northwest corner) on day 3 between 12-6PM. An event scene happens and you tell him about the time warp but he doesn't believe you. Since on the island there are 400 people each with about 30MP each and the maximum MP a single body can store is 999MP. Thus Zelhapolis would have no need to cause continual time loops since the 400 people would produce over 12,000MP each week far more than Zelhapolis could make use of. Now go to the research room (just next to Noo's room) and talk to the guy sitting at the desk. He'll say something about Noo's unique pen. It was hand made from the feather of Golden Bird. Now go to the map square just southwest of the city center. Here you'll find a pen shop in the middle (slightly east) of the map. You can tell it's a pen shop by looking at the sign on it. Go in the pen shop and talk to the clerk. He'll tell you that if want a pen like Noo's it'll take 2-3 weeks to order one from the Hunter village (since only the hunters can get the feather of the golden bird needed to make the pen). Now you have to find the Hunter Village (it helps if you found it before). In order to do this you have to exit town by the south exit (see MAIN EVENTS; "Exploring" below, for how to leave town). The town is located 2 squares west of the city center but you have to make a big U-turn (north to south) to get there. Once you find the town be sure and get the map by talking to a guy in a brown jacket between 12-6PM. He'll offer to sell you the map for 1000G. Now talk to the little girl by the archery targets (east side of village) she'll tell you that the Golden bird stops at the old church. Also talk to the guy in blue playing with the cat by the east exit. He'll tell you that the Golden Bird only lands in the middle of the night (12-5:59AM). Next head north to the screen 2 squares north of the HUNTER VILLAGE. Here head as west as you can till you come to a place with a guard in front of it. Here you need to have both Rumi and Bagos in your party or you won't be able to enter. Talk to the guard and enter wait for the bird just north of the church or a tree branch. If you see him fight him and get the feather. Also talk to the guy in the church for a map and look in the cabinets in the church since there are 3 items you can get there. Next you need to head back to the pen shop and talk to the clerk again (twice). He says he'll make the pen but it will take 6 hours to complete. Come back 6 hours later for a pen. Now wait till 12-6PM on day 5 and go back to Noo's room. Here have another conversation with him (choose YES). He gets mad that you're bothering him so much and smashes his pen into the desk. You give him the new pen and he ponders how you were able to construct an exact copy of his pen. Then a monster appears. Well don't just sit there fight it! After the fight the whole little magic watch thing happens again and you can recruit Noo. + + + + + + + + + + + + KALHINT: WARNING: If you want to get Bic and Fang do their sub-quest first. In order to get him you need to have already recruited Rumi, Bagos, Noo, Plosi and Claire. This may entail waiting till the week after you've recruited everyone. Sometimes the game doesn't register people as being recruited until the week after it's already happened. You also need to get the "broken clock" (different than the one you store stuff in). This can be obtained anytime from week 3 on. Talk to Rina's dad in the inn from days 1-3 in the morning (6-11:59). He'll give you something called "‚‚“‚•", or something broken from the castle. Now go back to Claire's watch shop and an event scene will happen. Now go to the forest 3 squares east and 2 north of the city center between 12-6PM on day 1 or 2. Make sure you enter from the south. Here you'll run into an event where you fight Kalhint's minions. After this he'll talk to you then take off. Now head north into the forest on the east side you'll find the thieves fortress. In the house where you talk to Kalhint you can search a drawer and if Kalhint's in the room he'll give you the map for the area. Now go back to the fortress on the 3rd day between 12-6PM. Here an event scene will happen where you talk to Kalhint and explain the time loop thing to him. Of course he doesn't believe you and you have to wait till next week to do anything. On the 2nd day of the week after you first talked to Kalhint you'll be approached by Rina to tell you that Zene, Kalhint's blue-haired girlfriend is waiting for you. This will happen automatically IF YOU ARE IN THE CITY DURING THE DAYTIME (1-4PM). She asks you to help Kalhint. Now go to Kalhint's fortress (above). Here you'll meet him and offer to help him. At first he says that he doesn't need your help and tells you to get lost. Kalhint is caught between his pride and the love of his girlfriend. Now be waiting wait at the castle at 7:45PM on the 3rd day. Here I think you need Rumi in your party. In any case you end up helping Kalhint fight Zelhapolis! Rumi will fight with you so be sure that you level her up and upgrade her weapon. Before the fight you get a sneak peak at Zelhapolis's three minion priests; "Jawaro" the snake, "Twinbam" the bird and "Grantas" the bull. They tell you that they come form the world of broken time. Grantas tries to fight you but ol' Zel steps in and says he'll take care of you once and for all. Get ready for a tough fight depending on your level. I was level 32 and it was far to easy! Now Zelhapolis will change into his true form (the bad guys always seem to do this trick in every RPG!) In any case he informs you that he's the reigning god of the island. He explains that he's draining the feelings and thus magical power from everyone on the island in order to become more powerful. He now goes about killing everyone he can. Enjoy the touching scene of Zene's death. Zelahpolis then zaps Kalhint and Rumi tells him off (it's about time!) saying that he's not a god but a devil! A long dramatic dialog between Zelhapolis and Rumi occurs where he tells her that humans are nothing more than simple, predictable, puppets. In the end Zel tells her that he knows everything and that she is secretly in love with Mouse! Zelhapolis tells you that you should be happy since he's giving you eternal life (in a strange way he's right). He then zaps Rumi away and asks if you're man enough to try and save her. Choose "YES" and get warped to.??? You wake up with Rumi as your girlfriend telling you that you're going on a date that day and that you've been together on the island for a year and that you two are married! Next go outside and your friendly neighbor tells you that it's nice to see you guys are still always so romantic even after a year together. Rumi tells that she's so happy that it's like a dream. Now you get control of Mouse again. Be sure to check the clock and look at what day it is. Strange, huh. In any case you seem to have amnesia! Walk around with Rumi until evening if you want and you'll get to see a number of romantic scenes (optional). You can't leave town! For something fun head to the port where you arrive every week. Here you'll find a swimmer Talk to him and he'll ask if you want to race. Press the circle button fast! If you win you get an egg. It's really hard so I gave up! You can also enter a fighting tournament! Take the exit directly east of Rina's hotel. Enter a big building (the same place you got the monster book). Talk to the old man and enter the fight! It's easy and you fight 5 different guys non-stop. After this you have a romantic scene with Rumi where you watch fireworks. (I'm not sure how this affects the plot later). You wake you later and it's lunch time. Finally go to Claire's watch shop and look in the storage clock. Inside you'll see a new item a broken clock (The princess sent it to the inn earlier. That's what you got from Rina's dad)! Take it out an event will happen where you get your memory back. Rumi tried to stop you from leaving her dream world but it was too late. You wake up on a beach and she's embarrassed though it is how she really feels. She then asks you how you feel. Choose the top answer for another romantic scene. Pachimo then gives you a goofy speech about love. You almost kiss but she chickens out. Pachimo makes a rude comment and the game continues. You'll be able to get Kalhint a little later in the game see The 3 Treasures section. " But wait! If you did the sub-quest involving Kyte and his lost boat you can now return to the inn and find your pal "Bic" (or whatever you named him). After you tell him the story he makes a comment about women always leading men into trouble "Just like always, eh " he says (I wonder if this will make it into the U.S. release?). Rumi asks if you've had lots of "trouble" with women in the past. Luckily Rina saves you by telling you that she's crazy about your wild and cool new friend. He'll be in your room waiting for you. From now on use the double bed to sleep in. You can upgrade Bic's weapon at the same place as Mouse. + + + + + + + + + + + + BIC & FANG: NOTE: get these guys before you get Kalhint! After you get Kalhint they can't be recruited!! Getting these guys to join you is part of a long process that begins the week after you recruit Kyte. During this week go to the north beach (4 squares north and 1 west of city central) between 12-6PM on the 4th day WITHOUT Kyte in your party. Here you'll meet Kyte and switch to an event scene where he talks about his old ship, "The Matilda". On the first day of the next week when you come into port you'll notice that Kyte isn't standing in his usual place (morning time only). Instead there's a guy dressed in blue there. Talk to the guy and an event scene will happen where he ends up saying the same thing that Kyte usually says. Now go the small pub where you first met Kyte. An event MIGHT happen here (the guidebook says it should but it never happened to me). If you get no event don't worry about it you can still proceed. Now you have to go to the village 2 squares east and 2 north of the city center. To get here you have to exit southwest out of the city head all the way up to the square 2 north of the city center then U-turn all the way back to this square. You can get the map for this square (called the "Woodcutter's Village").by talking to a guy called "ƒ‚ƒŠƒR[ƒl" in the village (I forget what he looks like and what time of day you have to talk to him). In any case talk to the guys standing next to the bridge in the daytime. They'll ask you if you're here to help fix the lift (a YES/ NO question). Choose YES now they tell you that you'll need parts. Head back to the shop where you upgrade Mouse's weapon and the talk to the blacksmith. He'll charge you 1000G for the parts you need. Now backtrack, or "Powered Jump" back to the Woodcutter's village and talk to the guy again. He'll thank you for the parts and give you an egg. Now in the same village find a guy cutting wood next to a small house. Talk to him and he'll teach you the "‹‚“" song. Now head all the way north to the square 5 spaces north of the city center. Here you'll find an abandoned village. Go to a big hollowed out tree in the northeast part of the village. Here you'll find a hole in the tree in the middle of a "V" shaped area of mushrooms. Face towards the tree and play the new song (remember select Pachimo as an item to do this). This should cause a beam of light to shoot out the top of the tree. Now you can enter the tree and be teleported to a floating island. On this island you must talk to an old guy in a house(an event scene will occur). Now wait till day time and talk to everyone in the village and then find another old guy and talk to him (maybe twice) till he asks if you're willing to pay 10,000G. You can also get the map to this area by buying items from a girl (walking around outside during the daytime). If you buy an item she'll offer to sell it to you for 1000G. Back to the old guy; Choose YES, pay the money and go to the next scene where giant birds fly you to a small island. Be sure that you've bought lots of healing items before this happens! Once you get on the island you find Kyte's boat there. You now have to go through a really annoying dungeon. This dungeon has 3 levels. On the first level (the entrance level) you need to activate 4 stone switches. These are located in the 4 corners of the map. You may find a well a little south of the northwest switch you can heal and save here. Once you've activated the switches head down the stairs closest to the southeast corner (there are 2 sets of stairs , the other one is in the northeast corner just before the switch). Now you'll follow these stairs into the B1F level with 4 staircases leading down. At the bottom of each of these you'll find a chest. These chests don't have any treasure as they are switches. Activate all these switches and head back up to the first floor and go to the northeast stairs. At this point remember how to get back out of the dungeon! Make a map if you have to. Now you'll go down to the B1F then back up to the first floor where you'll find a warp. Now go down some stairs to the B1F again and then to the B2F. Here you'll be on a stone path head southwest till you find Kyte. Now you'll have a boss fight with a giant octopus and 2 zombies (no idea why the zombies are here). After you beat the boss a cave inn will start. You now have 4 hours to escape the dungeon before it caves in (though you can mysteriously come back later). Once outside Kyte and you will hitch a ride back to safety. Here Rumi will meet up with you and you'll decide to use the birds to send for help by asking 2 of Mouse's friends for assistance. Here you get to choose the names of your friends (not Bic and Fang). Apparently they are also thief-musicians and part of the "Golden Three", Mouse being the third member of the group. You have now completed step one in the long road to getting Bic and Fang. The other steps you need to find them are integrated into the "have to" plot scenes later in the game. I'll give you further advice when I get to those scenes. + + + + + + + + + + + + ROID: After you first meet Roid and collect his broken parts and before you finish the "World of Darkness" finish all three dungeons (Water, Forest and Noo's). Now talk to Claire standing by the mirror 3 times (each time you'll be giving her a new part). In the morning sometime during the next week an event scene will happen and you'll be able to recruit the cutsey, yet disturbing Roid. + + + + + + + + + + + + GRANTAS: After you beat Grantas and save Rina during the three treasures quest go to the flower shop in the city central square (you have to go to the square south to get onto the beach). Now buy the "‚Š‚‰" or "request flower". Now go back to Noo's dungeon where Grantas's grave is select the flower item here to place the flowers on his grave. After you get to the final battle stage Grantas will join your party. --------------------------------------------- 10.4 MAIN EVENTS In order to start these you need to complete Kalhint's quest. EXPLORING Well until I have the solution to the game (I know it may take a bit but I write the faq as I play so I don't leave anything out), I'll tell you a little secret.. Go to the map directly south of city central. Here you must go as south as you can until you come to a little path behind all the buildings. Here you'll see a guard he won't let you pass unless you have Rumi (or maybe Bagos) in your party. Once you get past him you can explore most of the rest of the world! Remember to collect as many map (’n}) pieces as you can and to learn the "Powered Jump" skill in order to make you journey later much easier. That's all for now! + + + + + + + + + + + + THE THREE TREASURES The week after you get Kalhint to join your party a scene will happen where Noo comes to meet you at the dock. Now you'll go to the inn and talk with all the characters. As it turns out you need to get three special items (the 2 crowns and a sword) in order to stop the time loop. Zelhapolis is using the power of these items to somehow cause the time loop to happen. In order to get these items you'll need a special book. Before you get the book you need to visit Noo in his room in the castle in the daytime (again, entrance floor northwest corner). Here Noo will tell you about the book. This book is located in the small witches hut (5 squares north and 2east of the city central, just past Kalhint's forest fortress). In order to get there you'll need to pass through a small dungeon. If you're having problems with this dungeon that means that you better start building levels fast cause there's more powerful things coming up. Once you talk to the old lady here she'll tell you that you need to know the names of her 4 sisters before she'll tell you anything. At this point in the game you need to be able to read katakana or you'll have trouble progressing. IN any case I'm not sure if you actually have to visit the sister's huts or not but I'll give you the names and locations. I think the order of the names is important but the order you visit the houses is not. Try using just the names at first. All locations direction are based off of the city central as usual. NOTE: if you don't need the locations of the houses and just the names someone please e-mail me. THE HOUSES If the names don't seem to be working visit the houses first. They all look the same so they're easy to spot. Each sister will say her name in katakana in the first talk dialog box. You don't have to pay them the 500G unless you want your MP healed. 1. (2 West, 1 north.) Just north of hunters village (Kytes quest). 2. (3 north, 1 West) Just west of the entrance to the swamps. 3. (3 north, 2 east) East of the exit to the swamps on a coastline. 4. (2north, 3 east) South of the path to Kalhint's forest. THE SISTERS NAMES (katakana then Romaji) NOTE: These names must be entered in katakana. When you talk to the old lady she'll ask you for the 4 names. 1st sister: ƒ‰ƒCƒ‰ƒbƒN rairakku 2nd sister: ƒAƒ‹ƒƒŠƒA arumeria 3rd sister: ƒ‹ƒsƒiƒX rupinasu 4th sister: ƒwƒŒƒjƒ…[ƒ€ herenyuumu If at first you don't succeed with the names try again even a small mistake will mess it all up. Next the old sister will give you a book bring this back to Noo and he'll talk to you. Come back 24 hours later and Noo will have completed his research. He now tell you the 3 locations of the treasures. YOU NEED TO FINISH AT LEAST ONE DUNGEON FOR THE GAME TO PROGRESS! 1. The Water Dungeon: (2 north of city central B4f of the mine) 2. Forest Dungeon: (3 north 1 east, stick to northwest wall after you exit the swamp till you find a stone gate. 3. Noo's Dungeon: (2 north 2 east) Just north of the village with the broken gate. First head to whichever dungeon is closest with Rumi in your party. Once you get to the entrance you'll notice that it's blocked at which point Rumi will tell you that she has an item to break through the wall. Now head back to Rumi's house (1 south of city central) and go into her back yard (north entrance) and follow the yard till you come to around the wall at the southeast corner (next to the washing) check the wall and area around here and you'll find an item. THE WATER DUNGEON Once you enter the mine head to the b3f here in the south you'll find an entrance to the water dungeon. Once inside examine the wall and an event will happen where you destroy it. Next head down a level and you'll fin 2 switches on the level (northwest and southeast areas) press both of them then take a warp just north of the southwest switch. There's also a healing/save pool on this level towards the southeast. The next level will have a paved floor. There are 4 switches here and a path leading out of the northeast corner. Each of the switches is in a corner. Press them in this order southeast, northeast, northwest, and southwest. Or counterclockwise from the southeast switch. You know you've done it right if the screen shakes and you hear a sound (if you mess up you have to press them all and start over again). Next exit out the northeast exit to a big room. Now make your way down the spiral to the center of the room. Once there you'll see a giant rug (or otherwise strange pattern) with a pedestal in the center. Go and examine the pedestal and the boss fight begins. After this you'll get the crown. Now you have to go all the way back out!! THE FOREST DUNGEON After you blow up the wall stick to the right hand wall and follow it (east)hen south then west) till you come to a stone the stone will ask you a few questions. For the first one pick NO. The second also pick NO. Now you'll have 3 choices pick whatever you want (I chose the 3rd) then pick YES. A new path will now open up. Take this path south to the southeast cornerish area. IF YOU SEE ANOTHER STONE DO NOT TALK TO IT (or pick NO). Now take a path out north to a new map. Here explore the east side first and find an item in a chest that will protect your characters from all status problems when worn (—‚Ž‚). Now swing back and explore the west side till you come to another boss area. Fight the boss and get the crown! Now head back to the first stone you talked to and choose YES (they ask you if you want to change the map back). This will change the forest again so you can escape. If you talk to the other stone by mistake exit back to the map where you got the crown to reset the map. NOO'S DUNGEON When you first go in be sure to find a chest on the first floor.. This has an item called "–‚l‚˜r—" this will up your attack by 100 points! Now find some stairs and go down them. Each of the rooms have a number of tiles in them (there are 12 rooms just like a clock). Whenever you step on a tile a switch is activated (one per room). Step on the switches in rooms 3 and then 10, this will open up a path leading to room 12. Go into room 12 and do the usual thing to get the sword. Okay now that you've completed at least one of the dungeons (or as long as you have at least 1 of the 3 artifacts) wait till the 4th day at 8 O'clock. Be sure to be walking around town at this time. A soldier will come and get you and tell to go to the inn. It seems that Rina has kidnapped by Grantas who want you to come alone with the treasure to exchange it for Rina. Now you have to choose whether you'll save her or not (YES). Be waiting outside Noo's dungeon at 5AM on day 5 and you'll meet Grantas. (Oops you'll be teleported there automatically). Grantas will tell you that he is part of the holy Kanon. A group of beings who are seeking the power of gods. The other members are Jawaro, Twinbalm and the leader Zelhapolis. Now you'll have to fight Grantas one on one. After the fight he'll give you the keys to the princess's room (before committing suicide since he's tired of being Zelhapolis's servant). Now Rina will inform you you have until 6PM to get to the princess's room. Before you go to the castle make sure you put all your things in storage because you won't have another chance to return to Clarie's shop before the loop. As soon as you get to the castle you'll have a scene with everyone. Rumi is going to go into the castle with you and you get to choose 1 more member. Now go up to the princess's room and get you now have a 2 hour time limit to escape. Hurry Up and go back to where you came in! At this point you'll find out that the princess is a fake a construction of Jawaro! He tries to suck you all into the negative time zone but fail when a mysterious dagger hits Roid (the creation). Now you get to choose members and do battle again. After you beat Roid Jawaro says he'll kill you next week and escapes. Noo collects the pieces of Roid thinking that they might be useful. You now loop to the next week. THE WORLD OF DARKNESS The week after you first encounter Roid an event will happen where you all get together at Claire's shop and discuss things. Here Claire uses some strange power to activate something in Roid. She doesn't quite know what it is. Noo decides that they better do some research into it and tells you not to come back to Claire's shop until after 6 on the 3rd day. You won't be able to go into Claire's until then so be sure to stock up on items. You'll be shown a menu with three choices: 1) Change Party members, 2)Get items from broken clock, 3) Ready to go. After Wednesday go to Claire's and an event will happen where you find out that Roid has the power to suck people into the Dark World. As it turns out there is a world parallel to that of the real world, a world of Negative time so to speak. That's where people were going when Zelhapolis disintegrated them earlier. Next you find out that Claire is not really from our world but from the dark world (thus she has weird powers). Claire also has the power to guide people to the world of darkness through the power of her magical mirror. Apparently Zelhapolis and his holy Kanon are all beings from the world of darkness. That's how they can escape the effects of the time loop. Next we see a scene with Twinbalm, the birdlike lackey of Zelhapolis. He sees that you are trying to get into the dark world but assures himself that he'll wipe you out. Now you can go freely in and out of the dark world as long as you have Claire in your party simply go to the mirror to transport yourself. Claire's powers are limited so once you go to the dark world you can only stay there for a limited time (this time is reset by returning to the real world). If you stay in the dark world past the time indicated by the red mark on your clock you'll be trapped there forever! Once you're in the dark world you can't use your powered jump and monsters will appear at any time (like the ones from the castle)! Most of the people in the dark world have gone insane (they stayed there too long!) so they usually won't talk to you. There are some rare items in the dark world so be sure to take the time to explore the city a little. Eventually you want to go to the city central square along just before the path leading to Plosi's house. Here you'll come across a big platform in with the royal insignia on it (the sun-clock symbol you see throughout the game). Go here and examine the statue and you'll fight Twinbalm. After you fight him he tells you that it's not over! If you examine the same place again you can fight him again if you really want. Now exit back into the real world and make sure you put Bic in your party (If you've recruited him). Go back to the same place you fought Twinbalm in the shadow world and examine the statue. Now You'll fight the true version of Twinbalm. Don't waste all your MP just yet! As soon as you've fought him for a few rounds a scene appears where Fang comes in and the gang of 3 are reunited. Now you get to fight Twinbalm with Bic and Fang in your party. After you beat him you see that he like all dark world inhabitants is really a weird pile of time antimatter or something like that. Twinbalm says something about that he is so close to becoming a true god when Fang gets sick of hearing him talk and squishes him (my favorite boss death scene in an RPG)! You'll then find a key to the castle's basement in the goo that was once Twinbalm. An event will happen where you'll automatically be transported to the next week. Or so it seems... + + + + + + + + + + + + THE END IS NEAR After trouncing Twinbalm something strange happens, it snows! No one on Pandule has ever seen snow so they're all amazed! Appearntly you've broken the time loop (be sure to check the clock)! This means that you can take all your stuff out of Claire's broken clock since you don't need it anymore. Now you'll see a scene where Jawaro has managed to take the princess captive! She also has three dragons which she'll use to ambush you. In order to save her you've got to the castle. In order to get to the castle go to the city square where you met Rumi at the restaurant way back when. You'll notice if you check your map that there's an exit out the north. Follow this northeast till you enter the castle from the back. Now you can enter the castle from the same side entrance you used when you recruited Kyte. Take the stairs down into the basement and take a set of double doors that lead south (You'll automatically use your key to get in). There are now 3 rooms to enter each of these has a red carpet. When you step on the carpet a boss battle will happen (a total of 3 separate bosses). Whenever you beat a boss he'll give you a plaque (an event item). After you beat all three head out the north door of the castle basement into the courtyard. Now be sure to save you game in the courtyard. You'll enter a dungeon. There will be three pedestals to find in this dungeon. The best way to find all of them is to closely follow the left wall (hug it). This path is a little round a bout but it will lead you to all 3 pedestals. DO NOT GO UP ANY STAIRS. When you find a pedestal try and select one of the 3 plaques you got from the monsters in the castle. For each pedestal one of the three should work (try till you find which one). After you fill all three pedestals you'll hear a rumbling! Now continue following the left wall east then south till you see all the other members of your party waiting in front of a door. If you veer off east of you party members and follow the path south you'll find a pool of water where you can save/heal. Now go back to the doors and enter the room. Here you'll meet Jawaro's three lovely pets. You'll have to fight all 3 of them in turns. In between each battle you'll have the option of changing party members. After you've beaten all dragons you'll notice a new stairway has opened up. Claire forces her way into your party, so pick another member and go back to the well and save again. Now follow the stairs up flight after flight till you get to the top of the tower (10 floors in all). At the top the princess and Jawaro will be waiting for you. Jawaro will give you a little speech about how Grantas was just a soldier and unimportant and how Twinbalm, though powerful, was stupid. She however is not that stupid and won't underestimate you. Now you'll get to fight her 3 times on the first and second time don't aim for her you'll never be able to damage her. Instead aim for the little creatures around her. Once these are all destroyed you'll go onto the next battle. During the third battle you'll finally be able to get her. After this she'll make a dying speech about how Pandule created by her and Zelhapolis. Apparently she and her fellow dark world denizens insist that humans are their guinea pigs. She scorns Claire for betraying her kind (since Claire is also a dark world being). Then Claire gives this long speech about how humans are not guinea pigs since all beings should be equal, and how stupid and evil Jawaro is and how she was being used by Zelhapolis, (hint: MORAL MESSSAGE, MORAL MESSAGE!) etc.. Finally Jawaro sees the light and decides that she's not worthy of existence. Now Zelhapolis comes on the scene to kill you. But Noo is not impressed. He tells Zelhapolis that he is no God. Sure, Zelhapolis may have powers similar to those of a god but he is merely a creature from another world. Noo says that that there is no doubt in his mind that Zelhapolis has no Holy powers but merely uses time magic. And it goes to reason that if Mouse and company defeated Zelhapolis's minions (all of whom use the same magic principles as Zelhapolis) that they should be able to defeat Zelhapolis. Now you'll fight Zelhapolis. His attack power is extremely high but he doesn't have all but 5000 HP so take him out quickly and don't worry about healing. After you win Noo comments that things went just as he thought and that Zelhapolis has no true Holy powers. At that point Zelhapolis agrees with Noo. Zelhapolis admits that he has no true holy powers but the princess does! That's why he used her as his bride. In truth the three holy items, though helpful, were nothing but a ruse. All the true power came from the princess. Roleiyu has the power to drain and store infinite magic power from people (i.e. no MP max). Zelhapolis was using her as a vessel for storing power so that he could achieve the power of a god. At this point Roleiyu goes into shock since she had no idea of her true power. Zelhapolis also decides to release the power from within her and transfer it to himself. Now sit back and watch the event scene where Zelhapolis becomes a god and flings everyone into oblivion. + + + + + + + + + + + + THE FINAL BATTLE You wake up in front of Noo's dungeon with Claire and Kalhint. If you put the flowers on Grantas's grave he'll now join you. You'll notice that time has stopped and that the map has changed. Choose your party members and head south to the woodcutter's village. Here you'll meet one of the cloud people (like in the Bic and Fang quest). He'll give you a spirit stone that can be used to free your friends from the time warp. Now head south to the city (no, you can't power jump). At the entrance to the city you'll meet the cloud man again and he'll offer to change party members for you. Now you must wander through the monster filled city and find your friends and free them from the time freeze. Be sure to look out for the cloud man who will offer to sell you things at different points in the city. At this point I'll leave it up to you to find your allies (really it's not that hard at all). All of your friends are in the town except Rina who is passed out by the little pond where you saved her from Grantas earlier. You only need to find as many allies as you need for the last battle. I suggest you head to Plosi's art studio because the cloud person there sells "_X‚‚‚‚" which heals dead characters (and living) of 100% of their HP. When you're ready head to the castle and prepare for the final battle. In order to get into the castle (this stupid thing had me stuck for a half a week!) you need to go just west of the castle walkway. Here on the south side you'll see a house if you change the camera angle you'll notice a broken blank that you can walk up. Use this to head into the castle. Now head back down into the basement and out into the courtyard like before when you fought Jawaro. Here you'll have one last chance to change party members. Now head down to the basement (it's a long and slightly loopy dungeon). Whenever you see a pond save your game and heal there. When you get to the first floor you'll find Zelhapolis in the area where you fought the three dragons earlier. The first fight with ol' Zel is one you're supposed to loose so don't waste your power. Finally the princess realizes how to use some of her own power and gives you and your team a boost. Zelhapolis has about 40,000 HP so be sure to use Mouse's "Grand Cross" to weaken him. Also have another character to dish out damage (Bic is my fave). Finally a healer/support character like Claire is good. I suggest you be around level 40. I was at level 49 and it was too easy. After you defeat Zelhapolis you find out that he could only live for 6 days (his body couldn't last until seven), this is why he did the time loop thingy. You also learn that he was truly in love with the princess, though he would never admit it. That's why he repeated the wedding every time (really the ritual wasn't that significant). After the castle crumbles and you go outside you'll talk to the princess, Claire and Kalhint. Here the princess will ask you if you are looking to rule over her heart (like Zelhapolis wanted to). I chose NO thinking that I would end up with Rumi. I've heard different things about there being one, two or three endings. I'm not sure which is true. The ending I got was when everyone was preparing for a big event with Mouse and the Princess (nothing was said but it was implied). Then we find out that Mouse, Bic and Fang snuck away on a boat not wanting to "get in trouble with women again" as Bic puts it. I hear that there's a happier ending but frankly I thought that ending was pretty cool. If you find anymore endings please e-mail me. THE END ============================================================ 11. SKILLS (contains Japanese characters) In order to go up in level with your skills you have to use them a certain number of times. You can never see how many times you've used a skill, so you'll have to guess. Use the below chart as a guide. LEVEL # of times LEVEL # of times ------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 0 6 190 2 10 7 260 3 40 8 340 4 80 9 430 5 130 10 530 ------------------------------------------------------------------- All skills are listed in the following manner 1. When your allies use certain skills in combat there is a chance that Mouse will learn to imitate them. The trick is to have your allies use these skills a lot in combat until Mouse learns a new skill. The "prerequisites" section here indicates the skill that your ally uses to trigger Mouse's new ability. Unfortunately these skills also drain some of Mouse's HP every time you use them (noted after the AP cost). 1. ƒpƒ[‚ƒWƒƒƒ“ƒv A fire based attack (5AP/100HP) Powered Jump Diving Kick (Rumi) NOTE: Look at Mouse's skills screen and notice that there is a new option. This option is the powered Jump. This allows you to jump to any section of the map that you've found a map for. THIS IS EXTREMELY USEFUL since it saves you lots of time getting from one place to another. ITEMS GUIDE There are two major types if items in the game; Rare Items (things which don't disappear after the time loop), and other items. If you look at the manual on page 28 you can see a list of all the items, their icons and their effects. The following should be used with the manual to help you understand the items better. 13.1 Fruits (red berry icon): These heal HP and are found in many shops. The number listed in the description of the item is how many HP they heal (200HP/500HP/1000HP). 13.2 Potions (red bottle icon): Just like the above except they heal MP. Another type adds to you attack value when used in combat. 13.3 Water (blue vial icon): These cure bad status. Unless you can read Japanese knowing what to use might be hard. There are two very important types to get. The first is "‚‚‚‚‚". This will heal all bad status except KO status. It costs 150 for one bottle and you can buy it in a shop in the northwest section of the map square east of the city center map. The next important item is "•œŠˆ‚‚‚‚" this will heal KO'ed characters and also heal 50% of your HP for non-ko'ed characters. This costs 100G, but it is a bit harder to get (impossible in the early parts of the game). You can find it in a small shop in the square just north of the city central map square. The other medicines have the following effects... "‰“‚‚‚‚" heals poison "–Šo‚‚‚‚‚‚" heals blindness "—n‰‚‚‚‚" heals Freeze status "_X‚‚‚‚" restores all HP and Ko status (found at a shop 4 squares north and 2 east from the city central map) 13.4 Nuts (nut icon) These will permanently raise a given statistic by 1-5 points. 13.5 Flower (flower icon): These have various effects (more on this later). 13.6 Bomb (bomb icon): Use in combat for damage or status attacks. 13.7 Fish (fish icon): When eaten produce various effects (more on this later). 13.8 Accessories (ring icon): Each character can equip up to 3 accessories. To equip simply select an item from the items list. Equipable items are colored light blue. Those that are currently equipped are red. Select a red item and then choose "YES" to unequip it. Most accessories will raise stats and give you certain elemental attack of defense properties. Check the status screen explanation for help. 13.9 Keys (Key icon): These are used for events. Naturally they are used to open doors. When they are used they disappear. 13.10 Event Items (red sun icon): These rare items are used for events (duh). 13.11 Instruments (music icon) There are 3 of these rare items. When used in combat they produce status attacks. 1.ƒtƒ‹[ƒg (Flute): Causes enemies to sleep. 2.ƒJƒXƒ^ƒlƒbƒg (Castanet): 3.ƒIƒJƒŠƒi (Ocarina): Causes enemies to run away. 13.12 Special Items Are as follows... 1. Pachimo (Pachimo icon): select to play songs. 2. Map (Map icon): look at the map (also select button). 3. Chick Egg (Egg icon): collect em all... ============================================================ 14.SECRETS & TIPS 14.1 BATTLE TIPS As you might have noticed when you introduce new characters into the party they gain levels surprisingly fast. This is because they are getting more experience then higher level characters (or that their gained exp. is multiplied). In any case it's a pain in the butt to get all those new techniques with your new guys dying right and left. Use Mouse's "Beat Melody" to solve this problem. The castle is a good place to earn exp. and get skills since there are rarely overly large groups of enemies. What you need to do is whittle the enemy forces down to one then keep on hitting him with "Beat Melody" so he stays frozen. In the mean time have your other characters practice their skills till they level up! Another obvious thing I recommend to hit the pause button in combat if you can't read the Japanese fast enough. 14.2 GET CHICKS You know all those eggs you've been collecting, well here's your chance to use them! All you need is an egg now go to the map just south of the city center. Go south till you're close to the bottom of the map. Here you'll see a park. Japanese kanji will be written there (ŠC‚Œ‚‚Œ‰€). Go into the park and travel west out a back gate. You'll now come to another map (just west of the last one) and there will be a little house here. Go inside and talk to the old man. He explains that he raises ƒfƒXƒqƒˆƒR or "Desu Chicks" (The monsters you fought at the beginning of the game). Next he'll ask you to give him your eggs. Now if you want to bring a chick along with you talk to him again and select a chick. These chicks will act as a 4th member to your party. The only problem is that you can't control them and healing items don't affect them. Still they're pretty tough! Watch out though, if they die you can't get the dead ones back. Still don't worry about it since there are 100 eggs to find. After you give the man eggs they will take time to hatch. Each chick has a different look and different powers. There is a rumor that if you can get all 100 chicks (if some died it's okay), you'll be taken to the land of Chicks (save your Bevis & Butthead jokes please) where you'll meet the Chick King (No this is not an oxymoron)! In any case try and get as many eggs as you can. They're all over the place (especially in people's houses) so good luck finding them. More to come about the King when I get there... 14.3 DRINK TILL SHE... Go to the bar you met Claire at any time that she's normally there (8PM-12AM) on any night. Now go to the bartender and pay 100G. You'll now start a drinking contest. After 3 turns whoever is drunker looses. If you win you'll usually get a map piece prize. 14.4 NUTS SACK Yes there really is an item by this name in the game. In order to get it first go to the woodcutter village and talk to the woman called "ƒsƒ„ƒ“" I the village just northeast of the city. Talk to her twice then talk to the old mama (•) in the Hunter Village (2 west of the city center). She'll tell you she likes "ƒjƒWƒCƒƒqƒ‰ƒ". This is a kind of fish that can be bought on the beach in the city center square. Buy the fish and give it to her and she'll tell you the location of the Nuts sack. I forget exactly but its in a discolored patch of grass just east of the east gate to the village 3 squares west and 1 north of the city center. 14.5 BEST CHARACTERS In the beginning of the game Claire is good to have in your party in order to boost everyone's stats and help new members come up to current level. Noo rocks cause he has the best magic spells in the game. Still, he's a little weak so be sure to set him on defensive status. Rumi has a nice combination of attack and healing skills that work well later in the game, but when you get close to the end she becomes kind of obsolete. By far my favorite is Bic. If you upgrade his weapon to max and set him on offensive nothing can stop Bic (or there's nothing he can't stop). No will do the most damage in the game by far when it comes to normal attacks. Equip Bic with the attack +100 item you find in Noo's dungeon and watch the bosses die like flies. And yeah, his high HP also help. ============================================================ 15. THANKS Thanks to Konami for making this decent RPG (though they could of put more time into the graphics, but who care cause's the plot is cool and original!). Thanks to Gamefaqs and everyone else who posts my faqs.
