History

Gaming Online has come a long way and started as, well… an accident. I was teaching myself web design and needed a means of testing what I was learning. In need of a topic, I noticed the Playstation and Gameboy sitting to the side of my computer and figured—why not? What started as just a side-project quickly became a passion, and in September of 1998, PSX Cheats Galore launched with a measly fifteen Playstation games. Needless to say, for a site aiming to be the “end-all” of all gaming websites, fifteen games under the banner of a horrible website name wasn’t exactly an inspiring start. And while things would get worse before they got better (the rename to “PCG” comes to mind), the site truly took on a life of its own when it was re-branded as PSXonline, complete with a professional design and a massive database of Playstation codes, tips, reviews, and walkthroughs. Popularity began to grow from word-of-mouth, with visitors insisting we expand across more gaming platforms.

On Christmas Day 1999, the site was re-branded again as Gaming Online, tripling the size to support Dreamcast, N64, and Playstation. From there, things would only continue to grow exponentially as our dedication and passion for the site has kept us on-top of the ever-changing video game market, and now supporting over 20 video game systems.

We’ve come a long way over the past 20 years, and to all of our dedicated visitors, whether you’ve been with us from the beginning, or have only recently crossed out path, we sincerely thank you. We’re here to work for you and we’ll never forget that.

Enjoy.
